Welcome! I’m Nick Foreman, a PhD candidate at George Washington University in Washington, DC. My research interests center human metabolism in health and disease. My ongoing dissertation research examines the role of exercise in protecting against high-fat overfeeding. I also contribute to an ongoing trial on non-nutritive sweetener restriction in pregnancy and a study of meal dose and timing (morning vs. evening) on postprandial metabolic and cardiovascular outcomes.

Prior to moving to DC, I spent most of my life in Minnesota. I have a Masters degree in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. There, my research focused on endurance performance and exercise testing. My thesis examined the effect of exercise domains on heart rate variability (HRV) and endurance performance.

Outside of research, I love to run! I train with the NOVA running club in Northern Virginia, focusing mostly on 5K/10K races. I live in Washington, DC with my partner Emily and our two gray cats.

As of 02.28.2025, I am working to update my website. For more up-to-date information, see my LinkedIn page.
